The Upper Hanover Township Historical Committee is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of an inventory of historically and/or culturally significant structures and properties located in Upper Hanover Township. The Committee shall also prepare and update a list of historic farmsteads or houses restored or with restoration potential located in Upper Hanover Township.

The Historical Committee shall act as an ongoing advisory committee to the Upper Hanover Township Planning Commission and the Upper Hanover Township Board of Supervisors on matters relating to historic structures and properties.

The make-up of the Historical Committee shall consist of three to five Upper Hanover Township citizens to be appointed for three year staggered terms by the Board of Supervisors. The membership of the Committee shall in January of each year annually select a member to serve in the capacity of Chairman.
